Day 1 - July 28th
First impressions of New York: busy, hot, very smelly but completely awesome. After a 7 hour flight and 2 hour queue to get through immigration we took a stroll down 4th avenue and went to a Japanese restaurant for some soup and noodles. Just what we needed after that journey.
Our hotel is functional but no more. It was one of the cheapest we could find in downtown Manhattan and I guess you get what you pay for. I can't tell if it's retro or just hasn't been decorated since the 70s!
